Art has always been my true passion. It has captivated me in every form since I was young. I often sought pleasure in my surroundings during my experiences with different forms of art-whether it was a building, a person, or a photograph capturing a memory. I have been pulled in to the distinctive national identity of a building style. A house, for instance, can be characteristic of a people, the time it was built, and the way a particular society functions. From my point of view, a home or building is a projection of far beyond bricks and concrete; it is the capsule in which people live, work, and socialize. It is additionally a record of how we organise and live our lives. As a designer, I continually find myself pondering ways to improve people's lives, both aesthetically and practically.
Having a father in the field of interior design has prepared me to have a fundamental part in my career decision. Through his experience and knowledge of design and construction, I understood that pragmatics comes as one with aesthetics in architecture. On a day to day basis, I have learned from him in not only imagining and designing, as well as managing. He drove me to the conclusion that dreams are the foundations for success, yet only build success with creativity and logic, especially when art can be so subjective! So, what better approach to share my enthusiasm for architecture than to help create those dreams for others? After all, “An architect is the drawer of dreams" - Grace McGarvie.
Being an architecture student, I have always looked around for innovative ideas, aesthetics, and creativity to help my designs. This compassion has led me to pursue my dreams. During my first year of degree, I have struggled to define my own definition of “architecture”. I was inspired to learn and I have indeed enjoyed the process of struggling although there were many ups and downs that have been consistently pushing me down. I took pride in my work, but regardless I have to put in more effort to improve it. In my final semester, I have achieved Dean's List by earning a grade point average over 3.50. Despite the tears and struggles for the past three years, it was definitely an eye-opening experience for me as an architecture student.

Taylor's University December 2017
I love projects and I naturally organise everything under the phases of beginning, in between and end. I like the process and thoroughly enjoy each phase of the project. I constantly go back and forth between thinking the details and the bigger picture of the project. A well-done project brings me outrageous sentiments of satisfaction. I have millions of preferences. Many people don’t have any preferences about the stuff I have preferences about. Perhaps I over think things. I am disciplined in my approach. I study hard and I am willing to step up. In an interest to enhance my drafting skills using industry-standard software, I have completed AutoCAD drafting courses and have turned into an Autodesk AutoCAD certified professional. My dedication, work ethic, and self-motivation enable me to strive for the highest possible standards. I am seeking architecture as a profession since I consider it to be a career path where the two meet. Alvar Aalto stated, “Building art is a synthesis of life in materialised form. We should try to bring in under the same hat not a splintered way of thinking, but all in harmony together.” The desire to make the world a better place for people to live in has been the greatest influence in my pursuit of architecture as a profession.
I have a passion for people, just as much as environments. I have always interested in the topic of human behaviour, I have travelled in diverse countries, for example, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Australia, and recently Japan, which has allowed me to reflect upon extrinsic lifestyles and completely submerge myself in different dialects and societies that pulled in me the most. It is a never-ending topic of fascination. I have travelled from one country to another, I capture the images of these cultures and designs and plans through photographs which I gather. Consistently these mementos transport me back to distant lands. I am highly affected by environments, I can see, feel and understand the energy in the environment. I may have relationships with objects, buildings, and spaces like the relationships I have with people. I likewise have an impeccable memory for most places and environment that I have visited or experienced.
To me, sports are the key tool to refresh my mind and keeping me focused on my architecture journey. The continuation of these activities while studying in a university will prove invaluable to my studies as architecture will be fairly desk based; the accomplishment in these areas is reliant on positive mental application and concentration that comes to me when exercise is part of my routine. Furthermore, I have elected to be the President of Taylor’s University Volleyball Club. These responsibilities have helped me in various skills of learning as well as teaching and strengthening my mentality. It has also taught me to face new challenges in leading the team. Over the past two years, I have represented Taylor’s by leading my team in winning several competitions. I have also represented Kuala Lumpur to join Sukma Volleyball Tournament 2016 and we have managed to secure sixth placing out of 12 states in Malaysia.
Along with the aesthetical side of architecture, I have understood the more logical side. This chance to consolidate my love for art and design with a career is once in a lifetime. In the course of the most recent two years, I have worked in small-scale and medium-scale architecture firms. Through my work understanding as an intern/assistant architect, I've come to experience that architecture is an extraordinary bridge between creativity, imagination, reality, and a world of dreams. I've discovered no successful project emerges from a singular idea or person. I developed a variety of learning and experience, having heard and seen the numerous difficulties of the profession, it requires broad correspondence with a group of engineers, contractors, consultants, and the draftsmen who work on a building to achieve the greatest possible effect. It was a great experience to witness the progression of so many buildings, including; houses, condominiums and office blocks. Having had an influence in the creation of something so beneficial, yet so striking would without a doubt be the best feeling in the world.
Looking ahead to my career, I would ideally be practicing to be a licensed architect that made ideals of sustainability a primary concern. I'm convinced that issues of environmental sustainability can only be fully addressed in design if it also takes social responsibility into account and vice versa. My hopes for my career is to inspire others to get involved and take action instead of being a passive bystander and to motivate struggling individuals through the services we would provide to get back on their feet and enjoy all the amazing things life has to offer.
